Vitamin D Deficiency Symptoms: Skin

The body has a unique way of processing every nutrient it needs for the daily functions it carries out. When a deficiency results from the nutrient not being properly synthesized, however, some very unpleasant vitamin D deficiency symptoms can occur.

One of several vitamin D deficiency symptoms that individuals may experience is a change in skin texture. Although not common, the texture of the skin of a person who suffers from this condition may change and become pale. This is especially true for individuals who have very dark skin or who are using too much sunscreen, which interferes with the body’s processing of the nutrient through the skin.

Other vitamin D deficiency symptoms might include a general feeling of weakness or fatigue, digestive problems, and weak bones. Always seek the advice of a trained medical professional for proper diagnosis and treatment.
